Don’t Fence Amyl and the Sniffers In

The acclaimed Australian punk quartet comes to Seattle in May.


It’s been a little more than six months since the release of Comfort to Me, Australian punk outfit Amyl and the Sniffers’ characteristically throttling sophomore album. By now, its songs feel so tethered to a long-gone past that for drummer Bryce Wilson, whom 425 caught up with a few months ago, what’s renewing them is taking them on the road: a reality that, upon release, still had an uncertainty around it that has only recently begun letting up.

“It’s more exciting than anything to be actually playing (these songs) in front of live audiences,” Wilson said over Zoom.
