One of the most striking pieces of feedback husband-and-wife duo Jeremy Kent Jackson and Adrianne Alvarez-Jackson have received since opening their new acting school, Actorcraft, in Gig Harbor earlier this spring is how valuable it’s become not just as an artistic resource, but also as a source of community.
“They’re all on WhatsApp together; they go and do things. It’s like we created a little college cohort, and they’re all friends,” Adrianne said recently of one contingent of students. “The primary feedback that I’ve received is, ‘I was going to leave Gig Harbor; I thought I’d find my people. I was thinking I’d need to leave’ — I’ve heard this from two or three different people — ‘and now that I have this group, I don’t want to leave. I’m glad I stayed.’ That isn’t us; that’s the space we created.”
