If Your Heart Hurts, Rub a Little Dirt on It, a verbosely titled new audio documentary written and hosted by Olympia Film Society Programming Director Rob Patrick, was partly made possible by some nudging from a friend.  

Megan Hattie Stahl, a pal of Patrick’s with many audio projects of her own behind her, caught wind that the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts had put out a call for out-of-state applicants for fellowships. Knowing of Patrick’s extensive knowledge of cinema history and his previous experiences with here-and-there audio work, she encouraged him to apply.
